CCX Chairman Sandor in Asia to Speak on Developments in Emissions Markets



(CHICAGO – January 13, 2010)  Chicago Climate Exchange® (CCX®) Chairman and Founder Richard L. Sandor is in Asia this week and next where he will speak at several forums on developments in the global emissions markets as well as meet with local leaders in the government and business sectors.

Sandor will speak in Beijing on Friday, Jan. 15 to students at Peking University. The forum is a CEO roundtable jointly hosted by China Entrepreneurs Forum and Guanghua School of Management where Sandor is a member of the International Advisory Council. Later that day he’ll participate in an interview at the People’s Radio Event in Beijing.

On Saturday, Jan. 16 Sandor will be in Shanghai to attend the 2010 Low-Carbon Economy and Carbon Finance Development Forum hosted by the Shanghai Futures Exchange and the Shanghai Futures Association.

The following week Sandor speaks Wednesday, Jan. 20 at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. And on Thursday, Jan. 21 he’ll deliver remarks and participate in a panel discussion at the Asian Financial Forum. In advance of the forum, Sandor was interviewed by Hong Kong Trader about developments in emissions markets following the summit of global leaders in Copenhagen last month.

CCX has partnered with China National Petroleum Corporation Assets Management and the City of Tianjin to establish the Tianjin Climate Exchange (TCX), a joint venture and China’s first exchange established to design and market environmental products. Headquarters opened in September of 2008. The City of Tianjin is a special development zone designated by the State Council of China as a center for financial innovation.

Sandor also serves as Executive Chairman of Climate Exchange plc. Climate Exchange plc owns CCX, including the CCX-subsidiary Chicago Climate Futures Exchange® (CCFE®), as well as the European Climate Exchange (ECX).
